The major chunk of the laptop market has been occupied
by international stalwarts like Hewlett-Packard, Apple, Dell, Sony,
Acer and Toshiba, at the same time some indigenous Indian companies
have also launched competitive products in the Indian market.
A basic laptop these days costs as less as Rs. 20,000
and has the following main features, LCD display, Sound card, Wi-fi
internet, USB ports, DVD writers, SATA hard disk, DDR RAM etc.
In order to rectify the problems that the users face
with their laptops, the manufacturing companies set up laptop service
centers in almost every major city of the country, the availability
of service depends on the sales of a company, the more popular the
company the more spread service network it shall have.
The service centers have trained professionals who
take care of every problem faced by the customers while using their
laptops. A few companies e.g. Dell have service at home facility
where a user only has to make a phone call to the Dell customer
care and they send a service engineer to the customers place, this
makes the whole process very convenient for the customers.
